Liberty Creative Solutions has achieved recognition as an elite print and finishing provider in the Midwest region, garnering prestigious awards in the 2020 Graphics Excellence Awards competition by the Great Lakes Graphics Association (GLGA). With accolades including 'Best of Category,' 'Best of Division,' and 'Award of Excellence,' Liberty's commitment to innovative printing techniques and unique solutions solidifies its position as a top player in the industry.

The Great Lakes Graphics Association (GLGA) has announced that Liberty Creative Solutions of Tinley Park, Ill. is an award winner in the 2020 Graphics Excellence Awards (GEA) competition. The judging was conducted on March 10-11, 2020, by a team of independent judges. The GEA competition is one of the largest printing competitions in the nation. Liberty took home the following awards: “Best of Category” and “Best of Division” in Brochures and Broadsides, “Award of Excellence” in Special Finishing and/or Folding Techniques, and “Award of Excellence” in Print/Graphic Arts Self-Promotion.

A panel of out-of-state judges with extensive experience in printing and print production was brought in to examine the work. Each entry was judged on its merit in a category with similar printed pieces. The judging criteria included registration, crossovers, clarity and neatness, sharpness of halftones and line drawings, richness and tonal qualities of color, paper and ink selection, ink coverage, difficulty of printing, effective contrast or softness, finishing, bindery and overall visual impact.

“We are not just a printer…not just a creative agency…but a place our clients come to get unique solutions.”

– Lisette Wisniewski, Creative Director

Lisette Wisniewski, Creative Director who took the lead on this project for Liberty, was asked why she decided to include a soft touch varnish, raised UV gloss and foil to the brochure. She explained these finishes are not only a great tool for emotional marketing but also a great way to distinguish Liberty from our competition. Lisette went on to say, “As I sat down to design this brochure, I was tasked with developing an idea that explained what type of company we are. We are not just a printer…not just a creative agency…but a place our clients come to get unique solutions. The design of this piece visually shows how our team of creative and analytical thinkers come together to strategize and implement each project. Given the opportunity to take advantage of applying multiple finishes to this piece heightens the level of design, making this multi-sensory.” Lisette also added, “I couldn’t have completed this project without the help of Jake Egner, Press Manager, and his years of professional print experience. Jake spent the time to explore the best way to execute this challenging project and apply the finishes for the best possible outcome.” The in-depth process of this brochure, from design to print production, truly captures the essence of Liberty’s capabilities.
